Questions and answers.
Everything customers want to know before their first enquiry.
How much does it cost to have a building application prepared?
Our minor building application costs CHF 690 for the agreed scope of the application file, including submission and follow-up questions. The preliminary check costs CHF 149 and is credited against the subsequent application. Authority fees and agreed additional services are extra.
Can I submit a building application without an architect?
The requirements depend on the canton and the project. Check whether a qualified plan author must be involved and which signatures are required. The power of attorney and the technical requirements are agreed for the specific submission route.
How long does it take to get a building permit?
Our turnaround for the minor building application file is 5 working days after receipt of payment and all the necessary documents. The duration of the authority's review is separate and depends on the applicable procedure, specialist offices, follow-up questions and any objections.
Which documents do I need to provide for the enquiry?
Give the address, the structure and the dimensions, and have photos and any existing plans or manufacturer drawings ready. For structures already built, include any letters from the building authority. The documents needed for the actual submission are clarified based on the location.
Can I use existing manufacturer plans?
Yes, as the basis for the check. They must match the product actually planned. We clarify which site plans, dimensions, forms, signatures or technical evidence are also needed.
Do you also work in my municipality?
We handle minor building applications in all municipalities of the cantons of Zurich, Aargau, Zug, Lucerne, Bern, Solothurn, Basel-Landschaft, St. Gallen and Thurgau. The service runs digitally through SL Handel GmbH, based in Zug.
What does the municipality charge on top?
Authority fees are not included in the application file price. They depend on the applicable tariff and the specific project. Chargeable official extracts and third-party technical certificates are clarified in addition to the agreed scope of services.
Do you guarantee the building permit?
No. The competent authority decides on the permit and any conditions. Our mandate covers the agreed clarification, preparing the application file, submission and handling of queries.
What happens if the municipality requests additional documents?
We answer queries and handle requests for additional documents within the agreed scope of the application file. Additional technical certificates, project changes and objection or appeal proceedings are clarified separately.
How do I pay?
Once the offer is confirmed, you receive the payment details. The application file deadline starts once payment and all required documents have been received. Partner companies receive the billing agreed in the mandate.
